HomeNet personal protection tips

  • Avoid using the same password on multiple sites.
  • Use at least 12 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Avoid easy guesses like pet names or birthdays.
  • Consider using a password manager to store them securely.
  • Activate 2FA on email, social media, and banking accounts.
  • This adds an extra layer of protection even if your password is stolen.
  • Regular updates close security holes and protect against new threats.
  • Turn on automatic updates where possible.
  • Don’t click on unexpected links or open attachments from unknown senders.
  • Check email addresses carefully — small spelling changes can indicate phishing.
  •
  • Change your router’s default password.
  • Use WPA3 or WPA2 encryption.
  • Disable remote management unless required.
  • Discuss safe internet habits with children or elderly relatives.
  • Encourage open communication if someone encounters something harmful online.
  • Keep copies of important files on external drives or secure cloud storage.
  • Ransomware and device loss can happen to anyone.

Homenet DNS Protection

Choose the level of protection that’s right for your home — fast, private, and free for all customers.

Our DNS services make your internet connection safer by blocking known harmful websites and enabling SafeSearch on supported platforms (like Google, YouTube, and Bing). You can use our DNS over standard DNS, or encrypted DNS (DoT/DoH) for extra privacy.

These protections are not a replacement for antivirus software, keeping devices updated, or using parental controls — but they do provide an additional safety layer for your household.

Fast, private, and completely unfiltered. This is the default for all HomeNet customers.

  • No filtering or restrictions
  • Ideal if you want full control over your internet experience
  • Supports encrypted DNS for improved privacy

DNS Servers:

  • Nameserver 1: 213.133.194.116
  • Nameserver 2: 213.133.199.116

Encrypted DNS:

Automatic protection against dangerous or fraudulent sites. Recommended for most households — low false positives, safe for everyday browsing.

Blocks:

  • Malware sites
  • Phishing sites
  • Confirmed dangerous domains

Does not block normal websites, streaming, gaming, social media, or business apps.

DNS Servers:

  • Nameserver 1: 213.133.194.117
  • Nameserver 2: 213.133.199.117

Encrypted DNS:

Everything in Secure DNS, plus stronger filtering to help protect children from adult content and explicit search results.

Adds:

  • Adult content filtering
  • SafeSearch on Google, YouTube, Bing
  • Restricted Mode on YouTube

Everyday websites, gaming, and apps continue to work normally.

HomeNet Managed Router – Content Filtering & Time Management

As part of our commitment to online safety, Homenet offers advanced protection features built directly into our Managed Router service.
These tools give families and households greater control over what devices can access, when they can access it, and how the home network is used.

Our managed routers (including TP-Link Wi-Fi 6 models such as the EX320V) include easy-to-use parental controls and security features that you can manage through the router’s interface or the official mobile app.

Homenet Managed Routers allow you to filter content at the device level, giving you precise control over what individual users can access.

Content Filters Include:

  • Adult & explicit websites
  • Gambling content
  • Violent or harmful media
  • Social media restrictions (optional)
  • Gaming or streaming platform filtering
  • Custom block lists (add any domain you want to block)
  • SafeSearch enforcement (Google, Bing, YouTube Restricted Mode)

Filters can be applied per device — for example:

  • Child’s tablet
  • Guest devices
  • Smart TVs
  • Gaming consoles
  • Home PCs

This gives families flexible control without restricting the entire household.

Keep screen time under control with built-in scheduling features.

You can set:

  • Daily online time limits (e.g., 2 hours per day)
  • Bedtime schedules (block internet after a set hour)
  • School-time restrictions
  • Weekend vs weekday rules
  • Temporary time boosts (grant an extra 30–60 minutes if needed)

Example use cases:

  • Block access to gaming during homework hours
  • Turn off Wi-Fi for children’s devices after 9 pm
  • Limit social media during school nights
  • Allow extra time on weekends

Each device on your Wi-Fi network can have its own rules.

Per-Device Features Include:

  • Track real-time usage
  • Block/allow specific websites
  • Pause internet instantly
  • Create profiles (e.g., “Child A,” “Guest Devices,” “Living Room TV”)
  • Apply different filtering and time schedules for each profile

This keeps the whole home online while still managing individual usage safely.

Homenet Managed Routers also include built-in security layers:

  • Malicious content blocking
  • Intrusion prevention (IPS/IDS)
  • Anti-hacking protections (brute force, port scans, DoS attacks)
  • Wi-Fi encryption (WPA3 recommended)
  • Automatic firmware and security updates

We ensure your router stays secure and up-to-date without you needing to manage updates yourself.

You can manage all controls through:

  • The router’s web dashboard, or
  • The official TP-Link mobile app (Android / iOS)

Both interfaces include:

  • Clear device lists
  • Usage reports
  • Filter management
  • Parental control profiles
  • One-tap pause/resume internet

Our support team can assist you with setup if needed.

Homenet can assist with:

  • Setting up parental controls
  • Creating usage schedules
  • Enabling SafeSearch
  • Creating profiles for children
  • Blocking unwanted content
  • Ensuring secure Wi-Fi settings
  • Optimising router placement for better performance
